  2. Weight can vary quite a bit depending on what the snowglobe is made of. Newer ones usually are lighter then I expected but occasionally there will still be a new one that feels like its made out of cement. I just weighed a few large ones in my collection and all 3 were under 8 pounds. With packing materials I would say around 9 for shipping purposes but it will depend on the individual globe.
The DisneyStore.com site here in the US has the snowglobe box with the molded styrofoam that the snowglobe comes in and that is put into a shipping box. Often, additional packing material to fill the empty space in the box is done very poorly. They just throw some paper in there and do nothing to adequately fill the empty space. Also, when sold in the Disney Stores, the snowglobes often are packaged in an attractive box but I find when I get them from the website they usually dont have the attractive box even though it is the same globe.
    Hope that helps.
